What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. Written against what the app actually does — not a template.

The Caddy is operated by Hoome Holdings Limited. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app or this website, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
Account details. When you create an account we store your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple’s private relay address.
Your golf. Scorecards, the courses and tees you play, your handicap index and the statistics derived from your rounds — greens in regulation, scrambling, putts, strokes gained.
Swing videos. If you use Swing Analysis, the video you record is uploaded to our storage along with still frames taken from it.
Location. Only while you are using the app, and only to suggest golf clubs near you when you start a round. Your location is used on the device and is not stored on our servers.
Device notification token. If you allow notifications, so we can tell you when an analysis is ready or something happens in your round.
Diagnostics. Crash reports and error logs that help us find faults.
Why we collect it
To run the app: keeping your scorecards, calculating your handicap and statistics, and letting you play rounds with other people.
To provide Pro features: analysing your swing, generating your practice plan and writing your round recaps.
To operate accounts and purchases, including verifying a purchase with Apple and applying any free Pro days you have earned.
To keep the app working, by diagnosing crashes and errors.
Artificial intelligence
To produce Swing Analysis, coaching plans and round recaps, we send still frames from your swing video and the statistics from your rounds to our own private model for processing.
We do not send your name, email address or contact details.
The output is coaching guidance, not instruction from a qualified professional, and it can be wrong. Treat it as a prompt to think about your game rather than a diagnosis.
Who else sees your data
Other players. If you play a group round, the people in that round can see your name and your score for it. Friends you add can see your name, photo and the rounds you post to the leaderboard. Nothing else is shared with them.
Leaderboards and tournaments. When you finish a round at a course, it can count towards a leaderboard for that course. Your name, your profile photo and your score for that round appear on it.
We ask before your name appears on a public one. Until you agree, your rounds are recorded against the board but you are not shown on it. If you decline, we remove you and stop entering you in future.
A public leaderboard can be read by anyone, including people with no account, on our website. A link to one can be shared, and the preview shows the leading player’s name and score.
Club and private tournaments are different: you join those yourself, and only the people in them can see the table. Leaving one removes your rounds from it.
Your handicap index is used to work out net scores but is never shown to other players. Only your score for the round is public.
You can change this at any time in Settings. Turning it off removes you from every public leaderboard.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
This website
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful. That sets cookies in your browser and shares a shortened version of your IP address with Google.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or use its “do not track” setting, without losing access to anything on the site.
The website does not need an account. Nothing you do here is linked to your app data.
Payments and gifts
Buying Pro in the app. Apple handles the payment. We never see your card details — we receive a receipt from Apple, which we check to confirm what you bought and for how long.
Buying Pro or a gift on this website. Stripe handles the payment and we never see your card details. Stripe receives your email address and gives us back a record of the purchase.
Gift codes. If you buy a gift we store the code, your email address, and — if you ask us to send it for you — the recipient’s email address and any message you write. We use those to send the code and for nothing else.
How long we keep it
Your account, scorecards and statistics are kept until you delete your account.
Leaderboard entries are kept while the leaderboard is running and in its results afterwards. Removing yourself deletes your entry.
Swing videos are kept for your ten most recent analyses. When you record an eleventh, the oldest video is deleted automatically. The written coaching from an older analysis is kept, so your history stays complete.
Diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.
Your choices
Location. The app works without it — you can search for any club by name instead. You can change this at any time in your device settings.
Notifications. You choose whether to allow them, and you can turn them off in the app or in your device settings.
Camera, microphone and photos. Only used when you record or choose a swing video.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, from Settings in the app — it happens immediately and you do not need to ask us. If you no longer have the app, email us at the address below.
You also have the right to object to how we use your data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we have handled it badly.
Children
The Caddy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data we will update this policy and the date at the top of it.
